Parklands is a 150 lot residential estate that was the first in the Redlands designed to demonstrate sustainable housing design.
Environmental initiatives included reticulated gas to every allotment and a pedestrian link westward towards the town centre across Moogurrapun Creek.
Over 25 percent of the development is dedicated park and there was extensive rehabilitation of creek frontages and watercourses.
It was also the first development to feature a sustainable housing product with high ceilings, power savings, and water tanks in Redland Shire. As a result of this development Redland City Council changed its policy to allow water tanks.
The estate was developed from an amalgamation of rural properties adjoining the Redland Bay Primary and Pre-Schools and also incorporates a childcare centre.
